My politics are generally anti-establishment, and tend towards progressive ideologies, but I do have some libertarian leanings as well. Generally speaking, you can count on me to have a no-nonsense take on the news, and I will report on Republicans and Democrats alike because to me, most politicians the same. You can slap the party label on them, but they are still sleazy, intolerable, greedy, people, and I will write about them as such unless they prove otherwise.

Colombia hosts anti-government protests against authoritarian Duque regime

Anti-Government Protests in Colombia Lead to Police Massacres and Violence

Anti-Government Protests in Colombia Lead to Police Massacres and Violence What started as a protest against an exploitative tax reform has rapidly turned into violence and uproar as the people of Colombia lead anti-government protests against an authoritarian regime, and the authoritarian regime responds with murder and violence. On Wednesday, April 28th, trade Unions organized protests in Colombia’s major cities, including Bogota, Medellín, and Cali, to denounce a tax reform that places a burden of sales taxes on the lowest income-earners. This tax comes as an addition to the 39% income tax rate that citizens already abide by with each…

Reddit Investors v. Wall Street pt. 2: Revenge of the Powerful

Reddit Investors v. Wall Street pt. 2: Revenge of the Powerful Those who aren’t applauding the r/WallStreetBets battle against Wall Street hedge funds are, in my opinion, on the wrong side of history. Leaning into their shortsightedness, the powerful politicians, main-stream media outlets, and Wall Street fund managers who were losing billions on their thwarted bet against GameStop quickly acted to end the reddit rebellion. Within hours of the peak escalation of the “Game Stop Short Squeeze,” folks like Nasdaq Composite President and CEO Adena Friedman, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and SEC commissioners were calling for more regulation of the financial industry…

reddit vs wall street

Reddit Investors v. Wall Street pt. 1

Melvin Capital’s bet against GameStop failed, and people became a bit more knowledgeable about how Wall Street works, or fails to work, because of the saga. Part one of a two-part series In an act of rebellion that was applauded by Americans from all points of the political spectrum, a merry band of people on Reddit have been working together to directly challenge the billionaire hedge-fund managers on Wall Street. It started when a member of the subreddit r/WallStreetBets noticed that the shares of GameStop—a once-prolific retail video game store that has been struggling in recent years—had been aggressively shorted….

Kamala Harris: A Flawed VP for a Flawed Democracy

A Brief Synopsis of Harris and the General State of American Politics Joe Biden has finally decided on his vice-presidential candidate— Kamala Harris. Harris gained clout during this year’s Democratic primary but is preceded by a notorious record as a California Attorney General, and a mixed tenure as California Senator. Biden, 78-years-old and seemingly in cognitive decline (along with his equally ancient orange-skinned opponent), will likely need to rely on the strong-headed Harris for much of his presidency. The former Vice President’s need for assistance compounded with the high chances he could die in the office make this the most important…

Big Tech Stranglehold over Public Discourse shows a Monopoly in need of Reform

Big Tech Stranglehold over Public Discourse shows a Monopoly in need of Reform Does Big Tech function as a regular private sector company — or a utility? Legally speaking, Twitter and Facebook are in their right to ban Trump and anybody else; but should they be? The social media giants have the authority as private companies to remove posts and accounts that go against their terms of agreement. They have exercised that power relentlessly, banishing over 70,000 “Q-Anon related” as well as, inexplicably (and not reported as much), many leftist accounts. This is usually done without warning. It might be time to re-evaluate how we view…

As 2020 ends, Censorship and Tone-policing Increasingly Plague Media

As 2020 ends, Censorship and Tone-policing Increasingly Plague Media In an attempt to remove a totalitarian leader from office, the media has reverted to their own twisted form of totalitarianism. In a politically oppressive system, the party in power often exerts control over the people by altering the truth and controlling information. In Xi Jingping’s China, they jail journalists (and sometimes, journalists simply disappear) who express dissent against the ruling class. In Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro expresses nostalgia for the former military dictatorship, an era when newspapers were censored and some journalists tortured — and uses “fake news” allegations in response to general corruption…

PA Dems scapegoat Green Party to turn Commonwealth blue

PA Dems scapegoat Green Party to turn Commonwealth blue The Pennsylvania Green Party bears the burden of an increasingly polarized political landscape, and PA residents should take note The next president of our country may be decided by a single state—Pennsylvania. No candidate has won an election without winning the Keystone state in over 80 years. As such, both parties have used every trick in the books in order to sway Commonwealth voters. Pennsylvania Democrats have successfully sued to remove the Green Party candidate from the ballot over a technicality. The 5,000-signature affidavit that is necessary to put a candidate…
